Wellbeing ...... where does it come from and how can I access it?!
Something that we all have in common, I believe, is the desire to be at peace within ourselves. Many people go in search of happiness and use many different ways and means to try and experience happiness on an ongoing basis. Most of these means entail something outside of ourselves or by changing our circumstances... Have you ever heard someone saying something to the effect of "I will be happy when..." This is exactly what I am referring to.
The long term results of going in search of goals and our "happiness" are not guaranteed and often have a limited life span. I'm sure things that seemed to "make you happy" 10 years ago aren't the same things that "make you happy now".
When I talk about wellbeing, it is not a euphoric high of happiness, it is an inner knowingness that you are at peace and are connected with the essence of who you are.
For many years, I looked at happiness as being something outside myself. If I wasn't happy, I generally blamed external events or people for my unhappiness... I didn't fully understand where my experience of came from - or that my natural state of well being was always there.
I base my wellbeing sessions on the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought, as shared by Sydney Banks and the deep insight he had of these principles. We cannot have an experience of life without these 3 Principles...if there is no thought, there is no experience, if we have no consciousness there is no awareness of what is in our mind via thought and if there is no mind, there is no experience...there is no life.
Mind, Consciousness & Thought are the origins of our moment to moment experience. With a deep insight and understanding of these principles, you understand the source of your experience and what creates an unhappy, indifferent or happy experience. As this is the origin of experience, it is the step before techniques and positive affirmation type exercises, so these become redundant with understanding.
